Cable flushing- Radøy for Nexans

Nexans was assigned by BKK the mission to put the world’s deepest and longest 420 kV PEX submarine cable as part of a power connection that crosses two fjords north of Bergen. Nexans supplied a comprehensive turnkey solution to BKK consisting of design, type testing, production, delivery and installation of a total of about 100 km Single-core PEX- cable. The contract value is in excess of 700 million. Sea cables are manufactured at the Nexans factory in Halden, and was installed in Hjeltefjorden and Lurefjord in three parallel pathways.

SubseaPartner AS assisted with inpulling works and services rendered in the form of protective Works. In parts of the pathways and on land the cables are protected with additional mechanical protection and / or flush. In Kuvågen should all three cables flushed to a length on total 2400m, it was performed using our dive operated flushing machine
