Substantial Diving Contract awarded to SubseaPartner

SubseaPartner have been awarded by Ocean Installer a significant subcontract on Vår Energi’s Balder Future project. FPSO Jotun A shall be prepared for an overhaul at Rosenberg Worley and a subsea scope to remove the remaining risers and mooring chains after offshore disconnection shall be removed by divers. Besides from using the inshore DSV Risøy,
SubseaPartner have utilized the offshore Light Diving Craft Venturer, accommodated by the chartered vessel Olympic Challenger as the operational centre and accommodation facility. The planning have been ongoing for nearly 5 months, close up to 60 divers, dive technicians and Supervisors will work around the clock to complete the tasks in a safe and controlled manner and the operation is already underway.

-This contract is a true testimony of local commitment as the majority subcontracts given by SubseaPartner is local such as Reach Subsea, Claxton Engineering and Skyssbaatservice. For SubseaPartner this is a proof of our LEAN value chain that enable a small contractor to comply with the most stringent diving requirements set by the Norwegian Authorities as well as the end-client. The complexity of this operation are most of all related to logistical matters however, the industry standard that the Operator grant us gives us the oportunity to plan and execute with care of employers and using the best equipment available. This gives us full control of all identified risks, says Chief Commercial Officer, Ole Morten Skogland

SubseaPartner awarded another subsea contract in 2020


Earlier this year Vår Energi awarded SubseaPartner the three-year frame agreement for planned or unplanned inspection, maintenance, modification, construction, repair, and installation work using manned underwater operations as intervention method. These services entitle SubseaPartner to commence diving operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf under the Operators Consent to Diving

In June, Vår Energi issued a call-off for appr. 21 days offshore campaign at the Balder Field. As part of the Balder FPU Inspection, Repair and Maintenance programme, diving activities will be commenced in early August. The detailed planning and preparation have been done throughout at SubseaPartner main office in Haugesund. Detailed COVID-19 precautions have been put in place prior to- as well as during the offshore operation to comply with regional and client specific acts & regulations.

SubseaPartner is proud of receiving the frame agreement and will be a testimony of the experience our colleagues and partners has gained from the Norwegian offshore diving industry. We are proud of being qualified by Vår Energi for providing such critical deliverables such as manned underwater operations.
